This morning on my drive to work, I couldn’t believe how many people I observed driving while talking and or texting on their cell phone. As I started to keep count and the number jumped to 10!, I began to get angry. Here in California, it is illegal.
I personally take it serious since I’ve been a victim to a woman driving a volvo and chatting on her phone, running a red light, she hit me. Lucky for me I survived. I looked at her as we both managed to pull over, SHE WAS STILL ON HER PHONE! I was happy to be alive but my neck was hurting and I was late to my college graduation…
The point is, people should NOT drive while distracting themselves i.e. talking on a cell phone, texting, trying to eat, changing clothes, applying makeup, .. the list goes on and on.
Try it yourself, count how many people you see still driving and talking on their cell phone. These people are putting YOUR LIFE at risk! They are also risking their own life. Is a call or text that important?’
Drivers on Cell Phones Are as Bad as Drunks
The National Safety Council announced Tuesday (January 12, 2010) its new findings that 1.6 million accidents a year are caused by cell phone use – a number that increases by more than a million earlier official estimates, and gives new fodder to a growing, nationwide anti-distracted driving movement.
According to the organization, 1.4 million crashes are caused by people talking on the phone while driving. Another 200,000 – at least – are caused by drivers texting behind the wheel.
These Myth Buster video’s are great! Are cell phone equally as bad as drunk driving?
This girl is an idiot! I’d love to punch her in the face…HARD
